An INverse COnvolution MEthod for wavenumber extraction (INCOME): Formulations and applications

This paper deals with the extraction of wave features in elastic media. An inverse approach is proposed for identification dispersion characteristics (e.g. k-space) one- and two-dimensional structures (1D, 2D). The method similar to ESPRIT algorithm Prony series can be considered as an extension latter, specifically when applied 1D problems. By using a convolution framework, extended 2D case which it allows estimation full k-space by solving linear problem. called INverse COnvolution MEthod (INCOME). formulation INCOME first detailed mathematically justified. Both cases are explained. Then several examples presented assessing validity domain INCOME. These numerical tests clearly show relevance structured inputs periodic characteristics.
